M. Derek Gillis is the managing partner of the firm�s Real Estate practice group and is a
founding partner in the law firm of Epting & Gillis, LLC. He represents buyers, sellers,
landlords, tenants, developers and investors of all types and size. Mr. Gillis is a frequent
speaker to lawyers, clerks of court and real estate agents on legal issues related to real
estate. He is currently the Secretary of the Palmetto Land Title Association.
Mr. Gillis received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in and
his B.A in Political Science from The Citadel. He has clerked for the South Carolina House
of Representatives Ethics Committee, and served as a Hearing Officer for the South Carolina
Employment Security Commission. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Real Estate Division
and the Palmetto Land Title Association. He is a registered title insurance agent with several
national title insurance carriers. Derek resides in Camden, SC with his wife and three children.
